VIDITALK PARTNERS WITH THE MANHATTANVILLE COLLEGE “MY SOLDIER” PROGRAM
NEW YORK, APRIL 11, 2005 -- VIDITalk Corp., a leading provider of video messaging software, announced today that it has partnered with Manhattanville College to provide VIDITalk video messaging to their “My Soldier” program.
VIDITalk’s President Paul Braun said “We are very pleased to join with Manhattanville College in supporting our deployed Armed Service Personnel thru their MY Soldier program. Our Company will be providing VIDITalk video messaging capabilities to the My Soldier website, enabling all program members to send VIDI messages of support to the soldiers.”
"Our college has committed itself in word, deed and action to empower our students to make the world a better place. My Soldier achieves just that by putting politics aside and showing our soldiers that someone back home cares," Manhattanville President Richard A. Berman said. The My Soldier program lets supporters mail letters and care packages to the troops, as well as show their support by wearing a red bracelet. More than 150,000 soldiers have received mailings through the program, which has distributed some 250,000 red bracelets nationwide. The My Soldier VIDI Me program will make it possible for the more than 300,000 program members to create and send video messages from their home computer.
VIDITalk software enables users to create video messages for use in applications such as email, blogs, presentations, web pages, and other electronic documents. The videos are streamed to the recipient, rather than being sent as attachments, requiring no downloads and are viewable on computers, PDAs, and media player equipped cell phones.
About My Soldier
Manhattanville College, located in Purchase NY, is an independent Liberal Arts institution with a diverse body of 1500 undergraduate and 1000 graduate students. Sgt. Juan Salas, a student at Manhattanville, served for 14 months in Iraq and established the program with the help of the school when he returned from the war. The goal of the program is to show support for troops by establishing pen-pal relationships with them. Participants in the My Soldier program agree to “adopt” a soldier, receiving a starter kit containing a red My Soldier bracelet to publicly show their support for American troops and guidelines for writing letters to deployed personnel.
